The match chat
Every game has a chat for its players. Grey lines tell you what happens around the game and never notify you, messages from players do.

Every game has a chat for the people playing it. Open the Chat tab on the game page.
Players and lines
Messages from players show as bubbles. Between them you'll see short grey lines with the time, so you can follow the game without asking:
- someone joined, or picked, moved to or left a team
- the captain or organiser updated the teams
- the game is full, or was cancelled
- a match started, with its result, and the final table
- who won Man of the Match
Several joins or team picks in a row are folded into one line. A line like "Match 3 live" opens the Live tab.
Notifications and unread
- Messages from players send you a push, if you have it on for Messages. See Your notifications.
- The grey lines never send a notification and never count as unread.
- New messages from players put a number on the Chat tab.
When you open the chat, a New messages line marks where you stopped reading. Scrolled up in a long chat? Jump to latest takes you back down.
Quick replies
From 3 hours before kickoff until kickoff, three buttons sit above the message box: Running late, I'm here and Need a sub. One tap sends it to the chat.
Not booked yet?
You can read the chat but not write. It says "Chat is for players" with a button to join the game.
